FAQ

You have questions, we have answers

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check in is at 4pm., and check out is at 11am. Please contact the front desk if you require a late check out. A fee of up to half a night’s stay may apply, depending on the hour of late check out, and based on the current occupancy of the hotel.

Is there a resort fee?

Yes. The Lake House charges a $38 nightly resort fee per room, plus tax. The resort fee includes access to a variety of enhanced amenities and experiences designed to make the most of your stay on Canandaigua Lake.

Resort fee includes:

  • Access to the year-round heated lakefront pool and hot tub

Amenities and inclusions are subject to change seasonally. Please contact our team directly with any questions prior to arrival.

What are your deposit and cancellation policies?

Deposit requirements and cancellation terms vary based on the rate booked. Guests are encouraged to review their reservation confirmation carefully or contact our team directly with any questions regarding their specific policy.

Additionally, The Lake House places a hold of $200 per night at check-in for all guests. This is a pre-authorization to cover any additional charges the guest may charge to their room. The guest is able to send restaurant charges, activity charges, spa charges, and more to their room folio. We must have assurances at check in that the credit card posted will have enough funds on it to cover possible additional charges. All funds not used for additional charges will be released at check out. We recommend using a credit card for this charge.

It is NOT recommended for guests to use a debit card for this purpose. The initial hold as well as the final charge at check out may appear simultaneously on their account for a significant amount of time—up to 10 full business days. The initial hold is eventually released, but to avoid this inconvenience for our guests, we strongly encourage you to use a credit card.

Do guest rooms include a mini fridge or mini bar?

Yes. Guest rooms at The Lake House feature a stocked mini bar with a selection of snacks, alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Mini bar items are charged based on consumption during your stay.

If you require additional refrigerated space, mini fridges are available upon request and based on availability.

What accessibility measures are in place?

We want all of our guests to feel welcome, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant rooms are available on every level. Our public spaces adhere to the requirements of the ADA. Please contact us at 800-228-2801 for any specific questions.

Many guestrooms feature private balconies with lake views, and guests can combine spa treatments (think: couples massages and sauna sessions), lakefront fine dining, winery and brewery tours, wellness classes, sunset boat cruises, and breakfast in bed, for a remarkably memorable couples’ experience, completely tailored to your interests.

Do the rooms have private balconies with lake views?

Many guestrooms at The Lake House on Canandaigua include private balconies overlooking Canandaigua Lake, making it one of the few Finger Lakes resorts where most rooms have a direct view of the water. You can see the full list of our room types here.

Which Finger Lakes resorts have the best fine dining?

The Lake House on Canandaigua is ideally positioned near the region’s top wineries, in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country. While these months are often perceived as the peak months for wine tours and tastings, they can be busy and require advanced reservations, therefore, it’s important to note that wine tours and tastings are offered year-round, and there truly is no wrong time to visit “America’s Best Wine Region of the Year”. How does The Lake House compare to other Finger Lakes resorts?

What makes The Lake House different from other Canandaigua hotels?

The Lake House sits on the lakefront itself, offering many rooms with private, lake view balconies, a lakeside pool and jetted hot tub, full-service spa, cedar barrel saunas, waterfront restaurants, cozy cocktail lounges, and an artisan coffee shop – making it the only true luxury lakefront resort in Canandaigua and on the lake.
