Can’t-Miss Dining Experiences in Canandaigua This Season
Creative culinary experiences are always on the menu at The Lake House’s three dining venues, but there’s something about the winter season that makes cozy, comforting, and completely indulgent meals even more enticing.
This year, our talented food and beverage team is offering three different Wine, Beer, and Spirits Series available at Rose Tavern, Sand Bar, and our Library Bar, throughout the end of 2022 and into 2023.
Regional Tasting Menus at Rose Tavern
While even simple meals at Rose Tavern feel like a special occasion thanks to its commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients and flavor-forward dishes, five distinct pairing dinners are elevating the Rose Tavern experience even more. Tour some of the world’s most renowned wine countries, as well as a local Canandaigua brewery with curated five-course tasting menus. Each dish, under direction from our head chef Steve Eakins, is perfectly paired with a unique wine or beer — coming from Italy, California, France, Spain, and even here in Canandaigua with a special collaborative beer pairing dinner with Young Lion Brewing Company.
Each dinner is priced at $200 per person or can be booked as part of a package including two seats for the dinner and an overnight stay at The Lake House.
Pairing Menus Featuring Craft Spirits at Sand Bar
Known for its casual lakefront location in a refurbished boathouse and sophisticated yet still-satisfying bar staples, Sand Bar offers a unique spot for a four-course pairing dinner. Here, we’ve partnered with three craft beverage makers that are at the top of their game to pair incredible small-batch spirits, beers, and wines with dishes you won’t often find on the Sand Bar menu — like crispy duck breast and duck confit croquettes or key lime custard with cranberry compote.
First up in November is High West Distillery, sharing an array of whiskeys, including a signature High West Manhattan paired with dessert. Next in December, Canandaigua’s own Frequentem Brewing Co. will pair a stout, rice lager, Czech dark lager, and a sour IPA with just as flavorful dishes. Finally, in January Casa Noble, one of the first premium tequila brands to impact the global market, will take center stage.
- High West Distillery on November 3
- Frequentem Brewing Co. on December 8
- Casa Noble on January 5
Each dinner is priced at $125 per person. Don’t want to go home afterwards? Book the “Make it an Overnight” ticket option, including dinner for two and an overnight stay.
